‘County Lines’ is my first crime fiction novel. It was published in July 2020 and is exclusively available on Amazon in paperback & Kindle editions. The book can also be read on Kindle Unlimited.

I am really pleased with the result. It is a gritty fast paced story with lots of twists and turns. It features the organised crime activities of a Manchester criminal gang. In a dangerous environment of fear, violence & paranoia.

DI Andrea Statham is the experienced and respected senior detective tasked with getting them convicted and banged up.

There comes a time to batten down the hatches and choose those who you trust very carefully..

Jason Hamilton’s criminal drug dealing operation has made him into a successful, powerful, wealthy man. As the head of a Manchester Organised Crime Group, he is ruthless, violent and feared by his enemies and associates alike.

An unexpected sequence of events leads to betrayal, suspicion and paranoia within his firm.Cracks began to appear. Internal feuds fuelled by jealousy, revenge and paranoia of police informants.

To make matters worse, the Drugs Squad are also taking an interest in his activities. He has always kept his friends close, but his enemies closer … now he’s not sure which is which… events start to spiral out of control. Can Hamilton turn this around or is it the beginning of his demise?

5 Star Reviews on Amazon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“When I started this book, I didn’t think that I would be sat by the plug while my kindle was on charge while I finished it. I really couldn’t wait to see what happened. At the back of the book the author says he was a serving officer for over thirty years and I think this comes through loud and clear. He clearly knows his stuff. This is a story which starts and never lets up. It’s an eye-opener on both the police and criminal side and delivers the story without rose-coloured glasses. It felt real and a little bit scary. I can’t wait to find out how the characters stories continue in the next book(there better be a next book!) The ending was a good way to end a book about the criminal underworld. Great read.”

“As a retired police officer I rarely read novels of this type but decided to read County Lines because it is set in the north west and involves Manchester and Liverpool, both of which I’m familiar with. From the start, the author has even a compelling web of loyalties, betrayals and intrigue that captured my imagination. The action relates to the activities of an inner-city drug gang and a police investigation into the leading members of the gang. The characters , police and criminal, are all plausible without being stereotypical and react to events in a plausible manner. I was also pleased to see realistic portrayals of the way the police investigate serious criminal offences and their use of undercover officers. All in all a very satisfying read.”

“This was a very easy read and much more realistic than so many other books of this genre.
I’d never heard of the author but the book was recommended to me and I can’t wait for his second novel. At least I’m hoping there will be a second.
I’d definitely recommend reading this.”
